What Causes Anxiety Disorders?Although it is not exactly clear on what causes anxiety there appears to be a link to genetic inheritance & life experiences. Individuals will also be more prone to have anxiety disorders if they have a history of exposure to long-term abuse, violence or poverty. In addition, specific personally traits have also been linked to these illnesses. Individuals that tend to have low self-esteem or poor coping skills are particularly vulnerable. Furthermore, brain chemistry also appears to play a role by altering levels of biochemicals in the brain. Medications have had some success in treating certain types of disorders. |
